This residence located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood, had a design
by Todd Hiestuman for an addition on the back of the house to accommodate a new
kitchen and deck with a new bedroom and bath and rear entry in the lower
floor.
The project started with the removal of an old oil tank, the
foundation had sunk along the west elevation so the house was jacked up and a
new foundation put in that area. |

The foundation
system for the deck was designed with a retaining wall to give a place for the
excavated materials from the new stairs to the lower floor.
The trim
details are painted exterior grade MDF, the railings and deck surface are of
clear cedar.
The whole house was stripped of the old paint and
repainted towards the end of the project |
