The
client says... "After seeing MLW Contractor build the Freeman residence, I was
impressed with Marvin's broad capabilities and thought him a good candidate for
his services. He provided consultation for sensible revisions to my house to
make the upgrade." |

"The deck work
required architectural design efforts to make clever improvements to suit
desired end result. I am very pleased with that effort! There was structural
work, drywall work and siding and roofing. Marvin did all this work with great
skill." |

The project was a deck replacement which expanded the size of the
former deck as well as providing seating and a covered area. The goal of the
design was to integrate these new components and to improve the circulation
from the back door to the existing path system on the ground below without
compromising the functionality of the deck. The rotated stair provided the
solution. |

The residence
remained occupied during the construction of the deck, which took place
simultaneously with an expansion of the kitchen next to it. 3D models were used
through the construction process to solve problems and study possible detailing
solutions, including the connection to the pathways below. In this way, there
were few surprises to either the builder or the owner. |
