This Residence near the Arboretum was originally a single-story
bungalow. The building was torn down to the first floor, the original brick was
removed, cleaned, and stored at the site.
Pin piles were placed along the east/alley elevation to
support the foundation that had shifted down hill. Two new upper stories were
built to architect Todd Hiestuman's, design. |

The lower floor
was also remodeled, adding a new bedroom with all new utilities, effectively
creating a new 3 story home with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths.
Some of the
details created include: Site built bent curved handrail for the stairs, 26-foot
clear story columns, laundry chute integrated into the stair system, and curved
rafter tails. |
